The Taguig City government said it has vaccinated 769,438 individuals or 88 percent of the total population against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The local government said that 675,592 individuals or 77 percent of the total population have been fully inoculated against COVID-19 while a total of 1,433,492 jabs have already been administered across the city’s vaccination hubs.

Mayor Lino Edgardo Cayetano said the city is consistently coordinating with the national government and ensures that a comprehensive vaccine portfolio is in place for a fast, safe, and accessible vaccination rollout.

“Vaccination will continue until the last eligible Taguigeño gets protected,” he said.

Cayetano said the local government is also in full support of the Department of Health’s goal to reach nine million jabs in the ongoing National COVID-19 Vaccination Days.

In the city’s ongoing vaccination rollout, the first vaccine doses are currently being given to the pediatric population or individuals aged 12 to 17 years old

Vaccination sites such as Medical Center Taguig, Bonifacio High Street Mega Vaccination Hub, Lakeshore Vaccine Information and Training Center, RP Cruz Elementary School Vaccination Hub, Western Bicutan National High School Vaccination Hub, and Signal Village National High School Vaccination Hub are the city’s designated sites for their inoculation.

Alongside the current vaccination rollout for the pediatric population, booster shots are being administered to the A1 (Healthcare Workers), A2 (Senior Citizens), and A3 (Persons with Como bidities) Priority Groups as an added layer of protection against COVID-19 virus.

Currently, only A1, A2, and A3 are the priority groups who are eligible to get their booster shots. Individuals are eligible for booster shots 6 months after they received their second dose.

The city is working closely with the National COVID-19 Vaccination Operations Center for the preparation of booster shots for those who are part of A4, A5, and for the rest of the population.
