In a grand event held at Edsa-Shangrila Hotel on Friday, the 29-year-old TV and movie star and recording artist was joined by GMA’s top executives, led by GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, in renewing his ties with Kapuso Network.

Also present in the contract signing were Gilberto Duavit, Jr., Felipe S. Yalong, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, Regie Bautista, Jose Mari R. Abacan, Angel Javier-Cruz, Daryl Zamora, and Artist Center consultant Johnny Manahan.

Speaking to Manila Standard Entertainment, Richards described his relationship with his mother studio as “limitless.”

“Of all the people, of all the networks, it was GMA who gambled on me. They were not sure but they still decided to give me a chance. And being a newbie back then, who am I to just take that opportunity for granted,” Richards said.

The actor added that what he could do in return was to work passionately to earn the network’s trust as he likens his partnership with GMA as a relationship.

Explaining his description of his career in GMA as limitless, Richards underscored the network’s unparalleled support even letting “me to expand my wings.”

“They let me do projects outside the walls of the network. They didn’t restrict my potential as an actor because I believe I can give more. That’s why I believe it’s a wise decision to stay with GMA, probably until the end of my career,” Richards stated.

The multimedia star started his career in the Kapuso Network in 2010 debuting in the afternoon fantasy series Alakdana opposite Louise delos Reyes. Since then, he has expanded his catalog and ventured into film acting and music recording.

He has appeared in a dozen films, the most recent of which was Hello, Love, Goodbye with Kathryn Bernardo. The film holds the record of being the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time earning almost a billion pesos worldwide.

Richards is also among the few recording stars who earned a Diamond Record.  His Wish I May album sold over 150,000 units and was certified by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry.

“Everything is just right timing. If not in the next five years or eight years, believe me, in time magiging oras mo rin. So, sa mga nagsisimula, patience, hard work, and faith are the key to success. And always have a good heart. Kasi yan ang maiiwan sa tao, hindi ang kasikatan mo. So, always have that,” Richards concluded.
