Through the “Pantawid Pasada” program, the Malabon city government assured its tricycle and pedicab drivers  means of living in the recent two-week Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

The program, led by Malabon City Councilor Jose Lorenzo Oreta prioritized Malabonians who lost income during the said period.

Around 1000 tricycle and pedicab drivers benefitted from the program where they received P2500 each.

They were also acknowledged for providing transport service and mobility to the community which was mainly used in delivering relief goods, bringing ayuda and providing transportation for vaccinees dubbed as “Biyaheng Bakuna.”

“Amid the pandemic, the Bayanihang Malabonian is very much alive through these kinds of program. Apart from avoiding viral transmission, we are also able to give our tricycle and oedicab drivers a chance to earn decently and have a source of livelihood to support their families,” he said.
