TWICE sets record with new album

South Korean girl group TWICE collects its first top 10 on the Billboard 200 with its latest EP Taste of Love, which features seven tracks including the recent hit, “Alcohol-Free.”

In the record shown by Billboard, the female K-pop group has sold 46,000 album units with 43,000 units collected from both physical and digital album sales and the remaining 3,000 are from the total consumption of the group’s music on different streaming sites that drew an equivalent to a purchase of one album copy.

As reflected on Billboard’s top 200 albums chart, Taste of Love ranked at no. 6. The performance also put the Korean group as the first K-pop group led by female members to be on the top 10 of Billboard’s top 200 albums.

“It’s all thanks to our ONCE. Thank you so much for being together with us,” a translated tweet posted by TWICE in its official Twitter account alluding to the support the group gets from the fans.

Since the group’s debut five years ago, TWICE has added numerous awards and accolades to its resume. Last year, TWICE achieved outstanding recognition in its music career. For the record, its ninth mini album has surpassed 200,000 album sales in just one day.

Also, the group was able to sell more than 10 million albums that made them be the first female Korean group to achieve such feat.

TWICE is a female group under JYP Entertainment, which is known to be one of the biggest Korean entertainment agencies.
