House of glass

Garden, glasshouse, grub—a mall in Mandaluyong has transformed indoor dining into an intimate, sort of outdoor concept for those looking to enjoy a great time with a loved one amid lush greens.

SEE-THROUGH. The Glass Garden consists of four glasshouses amid lush ornamental plants, offering a unique dining space open until Valentine’s Day.

The Glass Garden at the Mega Atrium of SM Megamall, which opened on Feb. 1 and will be mounted until Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day, features four glasshouses decorated with premium ornamental plants, which, aside from being a pleasant décor, also help improve the air quality in the area. It is a joint project of Smart and Respira Plants.

The installation includes ornamental plants and usual garden accents like this fountain.

Each glasshouse has high ceilings and air pockets for ventilation. Only two guests at a time are allowed inside the glasshouse where they have a maximum of two hours’ stay to make way for sanitation before and after use.

In addition to physical distancing and regular sanitation, rubbing alcohol dispensers and Trace Together QR codes are deployed around the area.

The participating restaurants serving food at The Glass Garden are Amici, Bag O’ Shrimps, Chili’s, Genki Sushi, Gringo, Gumbo, Kitchitora of Tokyo, Mesa, Superbowl of China, The French Baker, and Yabu.
