The Taguig City government on Wednesday urged real property owners in the city to settle their annual taxes before the deadline on Dec. 31 for them to get a 20 percent discount.

For health safety and be more spacious, the local government asked taxpayers to settle all payment transactions at the Taguig Offsite Payment Center at Vista Mall Parking Building, a few kilometers away from city hall.

Mayor Lino Edgardo Cayetano urged his constituents to take the opportunity to pay their taxes early to avoid penalties and unnecessary inconvenience.

He reminded them to practice health and safety protocols such as wearing face mask, face shields, and practice social physical distancing when paying.

“Taxes are the lifeblood of the city’s programs and social services,” said Cayetano.

He said the collected tax translates into social services and the more the city can collect, the more social services the city government can render to Taguigeños.

Taguig has a Blue Certification Award from the Office of the Ombudsman for its streamlined frontline services, and an excellent rating from the Civil Service Commission for its compliance with Republic Act No. 11032, also known as the Anti-Red Tape Act.

The city is currently home to top corporations, embassies, and government offices. New hotels, educational institutions and shopping malls have also sprung in recent years within the fast-growing business districts like the Bonifacio Global City and ARCA South.
