Camp Olivas, Pampanga—About 59 personnel including civilian employees of the Pampanga Provincial Police Office have been contracted with coronavirus since the start with the pandemic, top police official in the province revealed over the weekend.
Police Colonel Andres Simbajon Jr., director of the PPO, said however only eight are active cases and are isolated in a quarantine center while the rest have recovered and went back on duty status.
“51 already recovered. No fatality recorded since the start of pandemic among PPO personnel,” said Simbajon adding that PPO is strictly monitoring those in isolation to ensure that they follow the 14-day quarantine because that is what the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases mandates,” Simbajon said.
To prevent further infection among their ranks, Simbajon reminded personnel to always ensure their safety while performing their duty by always observing basic standard protocols such as wearing of face mask, face shields, and practicing good hygiene.
“Aside from those, we also remind our people to avoid the 3Cs which include crowded places, confined spaces, and close contact setting, to lessen the risk of contracting the disease,” the official furthered.
Simbajon said they also implement protocols when it comes to trainings and seminars by utilizing the internet through video tele-conference applications.
“However, if physical contact is required for trainings like Junior Leadership Course, Senior Leadership Course, and other mandatory courses, we required them to submit a negative PCR test result with certification from our respective Regional Health Services. We also do in-house training so they cannot leave the venue until the training is over,” Simbajon added.
