Number-two ranked strawweight kickboxer “Golden Boy” Wang Junguang will come into the Singapore Indoor Stadium with the weight of his country on his shoulders.
The Chinese dynamo battles Russian and European Muay Thai Champion Aslanbek Zikreev in the main event of the previously recorded ONE: INSIDE THE MATRIX IV this Friday, 20 November.
“I’m very proud to fight overseas for my people during this special time,” Wang told ONEFC.com.
“I will bring a perfect victory back to my hometown of Henan, the martial arts center of China.”
“Golden Boy” had a rousing start in the promotion as he ran through Federico “The Little Big Man” Roma, earning a shot at Sam-A Gaiyanghadao for the then-vacant ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Title.
Though he ultimately lost the battle, Wang never lost his confidence.
“I know I disappointed my fans from my World Title fight the last time, but I still know that I can beat Sam-A,” he said.
After this match, there’s no doubt that he will be gunning for the two-sport ONE World Champion Sam-A, and he believes that it is only a matter of time before he brings the belt home to China.
“I’m the only one giving him a problem in this division, and trust me, I’ll give him a bigger problem next time. I want to bring this belt back home and become the first-ever male ONE World Champion from China,” Wang said.
