During Monday’s 25th Barangay Day, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte led in paying tributed to village officials for their immeasurable contribution to fight against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

“Your efficient leadership cannot be measured to maintain peace and order among your constituents amid the pandemic,” she said.

She lauded the untiring efforts of the officials of the city’s 142 barangays in helping slow down the spread of COVID-19 within their communities and addressing the needs of the people.

“We almost could not take a break just to be able to respond to the needs of our constituents,” she said.

During the event themed “Tuloy-tuloy na Paglilingkod at Malasakit para sa Bayan,” Belmonte announced the winning barangays in the city government’s “Race to Zero” campaign designed to encourage and challenge villages to sustain the drop in the number of daily cases in the city through “trace-test-isolate-treat-reintegrate.”
