Balanga City, Bataan—More farmers and fishermen received aid from City Mayor Francis Garcia and Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon-Gozon amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Through the leadership of Garcia and Venzon-Gozon, another 32 farmers received P25,000 each in loans for palay production and fishery fingerlings, payable in ten years with no interest and no collateral.
The City Agriculture Department said the program is under the Sure Aid Covid Program, ALPAS COVID-19 (Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat) of the Department of Agriculture in cooperation with GR Bank.
Previously, 51 farmers in the city benefitted from the loan program last month.
Earlier, the city government gave 2,390 bags of fertilizer to 603 local rice farmers, and also distributed cash aid of P2,000 each to tricycle drivers.
Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod also declared their support for all programs of the city government.
