Cebuano bet James de los Santos is set to increase his gold medal count in the individual male seniors’ division of online karatedo tournaments.

The 30-year-old de los Santos is going for his ninth gold medal in the Mitad Del Mundo Hatamotokai E-Tournament Ranked Event’s individual male seniors’ division.

An opportunity to gain another gold medal came to de los Santos after he won over Chrisley Philipart Belgium, 24.5-23.1, yesterday.

The world no. 2 ranked de los Santos will meet Murillo Alves of Brazil, who won over Matias Domont of Switzerland.

Domont, ranked no. 7 in the world, failed to advance after his video presentation was rejected.

Last week, de los Santos won three gold medals in succession using difficult techniques.

Since shifting to more demanding forms, James de los Santos won his sixth, seventh and eight championships in a span of three days.

His title victories allowed de los Santos to firm up his grip at second position in the world rankings with more points.

Utilizing the explosive execution of the ebi-geri formation twice, and the graceful moves of a turning jump in Unsu enabled de los Santos to rule with his video presentations in the second Dutch Open, and Miyamoto Musashi 5-Rings E-Kata competitions.

His last two trophies came his way after he tinkered with the levels of difficulty of the Ebi-geri to collect enough points to claim the crown in the Echampions Trophy Series 1.

The ebi-geri, known as shrimp kick, came handy for the second time when he unraveled the Sansai kata to turn score points over Alvez, 25.3-24.5 in Musashi finals.

This was when he outperformed Matias Domont of Switzerland, 25.7-24.5, in the finals to claim the crown in the Echampions Trophy Series 1.
