PFF postpones training sessions

The Philippine Football Federation has decided to postpone the start of the training sessions of club teams seeing action in the coming Philippines Football League.

The sessions at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite were supposed to be held in the third week of August 2020.

But it was put off after the government’s decision to impose a Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine in the National Capital Region and the provinces of Cavite and Laguna, from Aug. 4 to 18. This was brought on by the increasing number of COVID-19 infections in Metro Manila.

Initially, PFL teams were allowed to have training sessions in areas under the General Community Quarantine  and Modified General Community Quarantine.

This was after the Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases approved the guidelines that were set in both the PFF Operations Protocol for the Philippines Football League and the Joint Administrative Order signed by the Games and Amusements Board, Philippine Sports Commission and the Department of Health.

The PFF has already notified the PFL clubs on this latest development.

The Federation urged all interested parties to observe best practices in combating COVID-19.

The artificial turf pitch inside the San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite that was built there two years ago will serve as the only practice venue for professional football.

This could even be the grounds where the Philippine Football League may use when action eventually resumes as well.
