Cyclist Marcelo Felipe is working out along the roads of his hometown in Llanera, Nueva Ecija.

Because his routes are limited due to the roadblocks put up by nearby barangays, the 30-year-old Felipe trains only at roads that are still open for his bike.

Felipe said his continuous workouts will allow him to prepare for the tournament to be participated in by his Continental team 7 Eleven–Cliqq–Air21 by Roadbike Philippines.

He won’t able to leave for another country this year, but he and members of his squad will be seeing action in the online edition of the 2020 Tour of Indonesia.

“Virtual race na po ang sasalihan namin. Ito na po ang pinaghahandaan namin,” said Marcelo.

Their team manager Ric Rodriguez said that this will be one of the races they are joining this year, slated to happen this September.

Team 7Eleven was supposed join international races in Korea and Thailand over the last three months. But because of the lockdowns imposed to control the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, all of their  events were postponed.

“We have been coordinating with the team since the lockdown began after many of our events were cancelled,” said Felipe, who had three first-place finishes in the 2019 LBC Ronda Pilipinas.
