Jack Animam will give it her best shot when she suits up for a school that invited her to see action as an import in the Taiwan’s University Basketball Association.

Animam, who led the Philippines to two gold medals in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, said this in a recent podcast.

“Iyung leadership ko po sa laro. Iyun po ang magiging puhunan ko sa Taiwan,” said the 21-year old Animam, who is set to join Shih Hsin University (SHU) when she finally gets cleared to travel.

It was her dominant game on the floor which allowed her to help steer the National University Lady Bulldogs to six straight championships in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines women’s basketball tournament.

And with the 6’5” Animam around, the Lady Bulldogs were able to establish a league record of 96 straight wins.

“I’m looking forward to my games in Taiwan,” added Animam.

Animam is best remembered for controlling the shaded lane when the national women’s team won the five-a-side crown during the SEA Games, and the 3×3 championships as well.

“I’m excited. This is the first time that I’m playing abroad (as an import),” said Animam.

Animam was recently honored by the Philippine Sportswriters Association when she won the title of Ms. Basketball during the 2019 PSA Annual Awards Night.

She has represented the Philippines in the national squad for the last five years, beginning with the 2015 FIBA Asia Women’s Championship.

She got her break with SHU when the NU Lady Bulldogs returned from Taiwan, and the coaches asked her if Animam will an accept an invitation to join the Taiwanese squad.

“Dun na po nag-simula iyun. Nung nag yes ako,” said Animam.
