Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko’’ Domagoso has the strongest voter generation potential online among an initial list of leaders measured through big data analytics, campaign consultancy firm BluePrint revealed.

This finding was based on BluePrint’s Big Data Index (BDI) Report generated on Feb. 2, and extracted from Nov. 1, 2019 to Feb. 1, 2020 using nearly 195 million data points online.

BDI is part of BluePrint’s big data ecosystem used to design and implement campaigns and advocacies.

Included in the initial list of personalities analyzed through big data are Vice President Leni Robredo, Senators Leila de Lima, Manny Pacquiao, Christopher “Bong” Go, Imee Marcos, Cynthia Villar, Panfilo Lacson, Richard Gordon, Grace Poe, Pia Cayetano, and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

The list also includes House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, Public Works Secretary Mark Villar, Transportation Secretary Art Tugade, Finance Secretary Sonny Dominguez, Interior Secretary Eduardo Ano, former Senate President Manny Villar, former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, lawyer Chel Diokno, and broadcaster Erwin Tulfo.

“If we look at voter generation potential through big data analytics, numbers indicate Mayor Moreno (Domagoso) having the strongest numbers,” said Eero Brillantes, BluePrint’s Chief Executive.

“Mayor Moreno has a voter generation potential of around 12 million voters, followed by Senators Manny Pacquiao at 5.8 million and Imee Marcos at 5.2 million. This means that these personalities can effectively and efficiently reach and engage a big number of voters online,” added Brillantes.

Also according to the report, the mayor’s awareness on social media is strongest in the whole of Mindanao, Metro Manila and Central Luzon considered to be with major voting populations.

“If we look at geographical spread, Mayor Moreno has strong presence in Mindanao, Metro Manila, and Central Luzon, certainly very good indicators for any national position in 2022,” said Brillantes.

In terms of awareness ranking through media channels (traditional media online) and social media influencers, Vice President Robredo comes out on top with 14,921 actual posts, followed by Mayor Moreno with 7,782, and Senator Bong Go with 7,464.

“At the very least, the report is a wake up call for those eyeing the presidency in 2022. These personalities must become more engaged with voters online. Social media will be a major battleground for the hearts and minds of Filipino voters,” Brillantes said.

“Social media will also greatly affect how traditional media will look at and define these personalities. Ground game political activities will be so much influenced by social media. Those who can harness the potential of social media to reach and engage voters at a personal level will have so much advantage over the rest,” he added.
