‘Sadsad’ festival

High school students from different barangays in Iloilo sway to the beat of the drums as they participate in the ‘Sadsad’ festival on Saturday. Formerly called Kasadyahan, Sadsad is the street dance competition prelude to the Dinagyang. Ilongos celebrate every January the abundance of their harvest, but the local government and the church have substituted Kasadyahan with Sadsad, which focuses on giving thanks to their patron saint Santo Niño.
