The exhibition, held at the Navotas Centennial Park, involved some 180 drones forming various images such as the Navotas map, fish, ship, and buildings that symbolized the city’s thriving fishing industry.

“Each year, we hope to give you a celebration grander than the previous one. This is our way of thanking you for your steadfast support to our government and your valuable contribution to our city’s progress,” Mayor Toby Tiangco said.

The drone dance was part of the Variety Show and Grand Fireworks Display conducted every Jan. 15 as penultimate event of the Pangisdaan Festival.

This year’s show featured Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte, Rayver Cruz, Zephanie Dimaranan, Michael Pangilinan,

 Jericho Rosales, and December Avenue.

Also present were Jana Agoncillo, Kyline Alcantara, Andrea Torres, Negi and Pepay, and MC and Lassie.

The festival organizers also tapped local talents including the NavotaAs art scholars, Navotas All Stars dance group, Mutya ng Navotas 2019 Anne Tenorio and Prince of Ballads Gerald Santos.

Meanwhile, amid the merriment, Rep. John Rey Tiangco called on the public to pray for the survivors of Taal Volcano’s unrest and extend help in any way they can.

The lawmaker said donations may be brought to the City Social Welfare and Development Office at the Navotas City Hall Annex.

The Pangisdaan Festival officially started on January 10 with the Street Dance Competition among the public high schools, followed by the opening of Kalye Fiesta and the awarding of the Top 20 Business and Realty Taxpayers.

Other activities included the Pangisdaan Festival Motorcade and Boodle Fight, Aero Zumba Competition, Araw ng Mangingisda, Misa ng Pasasalamat, and Pistang Kristyano.

The city also held Pamilyang Navoteño Fun Day, 4th Navotas Invitational Motor Show and Mutya ng Navotas 2020 featuring Robi Domingo and Tony Labrusca.

Perlass de Navotas, a pageant for gays, was rescheduled to January 19 after ash fall from Taal Volcano’s eruption blanketed Metro Manila last Monday.

Pangisdaan concluded with a grand parade made more special with the presence of celebrities Bela Padilla and Ryza Cenon. It was participated in by city officials and employees, senior citizens, faith-based and private organizations, and the business and education sectors.

Adding excitement to the activity were bright and colorful floats from the city’s 18 barangays that were designed according to the theme, “Sama-sama Tayo Tungo sa Magandang Bukas.”
