Globe Telecom Inc. said Thursday it fully restored telecom services in Cavite and Laguna provinces that were affected by ashfall from Taal Volcano.
“This is the result of partial commercial power resumption and permissions given to replenish generator fuel in areas severely affected by ash fall from Taal Volcano’s explosion Sunday evening,” Globe said.
The telco said the prolonged commercial power outages in the said areas forced Globe to operate its sites using generator sets. It said the zero visibility within the 15-kilometer danger zone from the main Taal crater prevented immediate equipment refueling.
Globe said technical teams remained vigilant in monitoring the network in view of the volcano’s volatile condition.
The company also offers free calls and charging services and free GoWifi internet connection to augment connectivity requirements.
