Roel “Akiyama” Rosauro is wrapping up a fruitful training camp, and he feels confident heading into his first assignment inside the ONE Championship Circle this year.

The Filipino National Muay Thai silver medalist battles Yohan “The Iceman” Mulia Legowo in a three-round featherweight bout at ONE: A NEW TOMORROW at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand this Friday, January 10.

Rosauro covered all the bases during training as he knows that Legowo is just as hungry as him entering this match.

Nonetheless, the Camotes, Cebu native is optimistic about his chances against the Indonesian.

“I know it won’t be an easy fight. Legowo won’t be a pushover because we’re both hungry for a win. That’s why I gave everything during my preparation for this,” Rosauro said.

“I will go toe-to-toe with him wherever this match goes. I am ready and I am excited for this match.”

Knowing Legowo’s grappling prowess, the 31-year-old’s biggest chance of winning is by keeping the match standing, though Rosauro insists that he is ready to roll if the contest hits the ground.

“I am aware of his ground game, most of his wins came from submission, that’s why I really worked on my ground game for this match,” he said.

“But I’ll try to keep this match standing because I know that’s where my advantage is. That will be my game plan this Friday, to strike and to knock him out.”

With a win still elusive in two tries, “Akiyama” has no plans of wasting another chance given to him at The Home Of Martial Arts.

“This is such a crucial match for me. I know I can’t afford another loss and that’s why I’ll give everything in this match. This is the perfect opportunity for me to get more opportunities moving forward,” Rosauro said.

“I am ready. You can expect to see a determined Roel Rosauro this Friday.”

Rosauro and Legowo will raise the curtains for ONE: A NEW TOMORROW at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand this Friday.

The prime card starts at 7:30pm PHT. To watch, tune-in to FacebookTwitterYouTube, or download the ONE Super App.
