The cities of Manila and Pasay join forces in hosting the country’s grandest festival as Aliwan Fiesta 2019 unfolds on April 25-27, under the auspices of Manila Broadcasting Company, Star City, and the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
Kicking off the festivities along Sotto Street in front of the Aliw Theater will be the three-day Shoppers Bazaar, plus the Pasakalye—a street concert featuring Ben&Ben, Juan Karlos, This Band, and Extreme Lab, organizers said in a statement.
Young ladies from various regions of the country will vie for the title of Festival Queen and a cash prize of P100,000 as the Reyna ng Aliwan pageant takes to the stage on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
The show will also feature musical numbers by Christian Bautista and Jason Fernandez.
The Grand Parade showcasing different festivals from north to south of the archipelago then takes place on Saturday, beginning at Quirino Grandstand and winding up in front of the Aliw Theater at the CCP Complex, where the formal awarding ceremonies will take place.
A cool P1 million await the winner of the Streetdance Competition, while the champion in the Float Design category will take home P500,000.
Special guest performers will be 6 Cycle Mind and Vin Abrenica.
Aliwan Fiesta 2019 is brought to the people by Pride Detergent, Unique Toothpaste, White Rose Cojic Whitening Soap, Smart Dishwashing Paste, Star Wax, Tanduay, TM, Dunkin’ Donuts, Symdex D, Asian Institute of Computer Studies, Senokot, GES Led Lights, Whiteflower, and Nature Spring Mineral Water.
