FCVBA leaves for ASEAN cagefest

Members of the Filipino-Chinese Veterans Basketball Association leave for Hat Yai, Thailand today, ready and confident to defend their two titles in the 27th ASEAN Veterans Basketball Tournament which starts tomorrow.

Leading the delegation are Rain or Shine co-team owner Terry Que (Raymond Yu is the other owner), Ironcon Builders Jimi Lim, Freego’s Eduard Tio, and Johnny Chua.

Both Que and Lim are convinced they can defend their 60-and-above and 65-and-above titles in the annual tournament designed for players with Chinese descent.

“I think we are still capable extending our reign,” said Que.

Aside from Lim and Que, other members of the 65-and-above team are former Crispa enforcer Bong dela Cruz, MICAA player Zotico Tan, Johnny Chua, James Chua, Sonny Co, Antonio Go, Conrad Siy, Eddie Yap and Achit Kaw.

Leading the 60s are former San Miguel star Elmer Reyes, Crispa’s Noli Banate, ex-University of the East star Julio Cruz and former La Salle star Kenneth Yap.

Other members of the 60s are Danilo Ching, Aries Franco, Andrew Ongteco, Danny Co, Jose Lao, Elmer Latonio and Ramon Mabanta.

The association, however, won’t defend its title in the 50-and-above.
