A video of Sandara Park defending the Philippines in a Korean TV show is making rounds online with the original clip reaching 2.5 million views on Facebook three days after it was posted.

The video, originally posted on March 20 on Team Philippines, a fun community sharing everything good about the country, shows the “Pambansang Krung Krung” in Korean TV show Battle Trip describing the Philippines as a safe and beautiful country. The show’s episode featuring Dara was telecast in January but it’s only recently that it got the attention of local fans.

“One of the reasons why I introduce the Philippines to Battle Trip is people always ask me about the Philippines, ‘Isn’t it dangerous? I hear public safety is poor? They always ask me that,” says Dara (translated from Korean) talking to the show’s guests and hosts.

“It’s just that unfortunate incidents are shown in the news, I wanted to show that, it’s not dangerous at all,” she adds.

After she defended “her second home,” a video clip of Dara and her Korean model friend Seung Hyun touring various Philippine sites is shown – from lush green mountain landscapes to white sand beaches bordered by clear blue waters.

Having lived in the Philippines for quite a long time before becoming a member of the popular girl group, 2NE1, Sandara proved how much she knows the Philippines by introducing exciting and native food to her friend. They visited Coron, Palawan to go hiking and snorkeling.

Meanwhile, Dara is now working solo under YG Entertainment after renewing her contract. She returned to acting as she plays the lead in the upcoming K-movie One Step, which premieres in April. The film is a music drama that aims to communicate and share a range of emotions through music.

In the movie, the Korean pop star plays Si-hyun who is left with no memories of the accident or her past. The accident causes her to see sounds in color which is often disorientating, forcing Si-hyun to protect her ears.

The movie will also hit Philippine theaters in May.
