SPO4 Roy Villegas narrated how Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo was allegedly strangled to death while inside Camp Crame in Quezon City on October 18, 2017.

During the hearing of the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, Villegas maintained, it was SPO3 Ricky Sta. Isabel who killed Jee.

He recalled Sta. Isabel’s supposed actions, saying “may binigay sa amin na bag na may lamang surgical gloves at packaging tape. Si Jerry ang nag-tape sa ulo ng biktima (We were given a bag containing surgical gloves ang packaging tape. Jerry put a tape around the victim’s head).”

Villegas was referring to Jerry Omlang, who was a ‘striker’ at the National Bureau of Investigation.

Then, Villegas related the next events.

“Parang ginarote” was how Villegas described Sta. Isabel's alleged killing of the Korean businessman, wherein a rope was supposedly tied around the victim’s neck.

Villegas said he did not stop the crime as he was afraid of Sta. Isabel.

Sta. Isabel reportedly told them, “magkakasama tayo dito. Walang iwanan (We are all together here. No one should be  left behind).”

Omlang refuted Villegas' statements.

Senate Committee Chairman Panfilo Lacson asked Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre if the conflicting testimonies of the resource persons would bolster or weaken the case in court on Jee’s abduction and death.

Aquirre responded that it is up to the public prosecutors to determine the credibility of the testimonies.

The secretary also said, it is expected that the persons involved in Jee’s slay may give different versions in order to absolve themselves from the crime.
