Architectural firm Casas+Architects is currently designing the new Far Eastern University (FEU) campus which will be built in Filinvest City, Alabang. FEU Alabang will be a vertical campus with a 15-floor academic building for its laboratory facilities and classrooms for the institution’ science and IT programs. It will also have a 7-storey administration building with an auditorium and centralized library. FEU tapped  Casas+Architects to master plan its sixth campus in a 1.8 hectare lot that can accommodate up to 18,000 students. The facility will be a sustainable structure, taking advantage of the sun’s orientation and prevailing wind direction to conserve energy for light and ventilation. Soft landscaping and foliage will be incorporated into the design. “Sustainability means to make a building function as it is designed more than the years it is expected to withstand, while green architecture is a necessity to care for the environment by using energy-efficient designs, processes and methodologies,” said Carmelo Casas, president and CEO of Casas+Architects.
