Look your best during face-to-face classes

Face-to-face classes are right around the corner, meaning we can finally see our classmates and professors in the flesh.

Online classes must have pushed staple makeup products on the back burner for over two years, and they might even be expired. But despite the pandemic and mandatory face masks, makeup brands didn’t slow down their product releases and collections. They even stepped up their game.

Makeup brands reformulated their products into being mask-proof for the most part, but with the Philippines being a hot and humid country, it is nearly impossible to wear makeup and not have it transfer on your mask.

That’s why we rounded up some tips on how you can stay looking fresh despite the horrors of daily commute and scorching heat. Here’s what you should have in your make-up bag as you return to the hallowed halls of your school.

First things first, sunscreen! It is non-negotiable and must always be part of your routine. There are multiple sunscreens available in the market, depending on your preferences. But the most significant aspect to look for in sunscreens is UV protection. Each product differs in its finish, either matte or dewy, but never compromise your skin’s protection against the sun.

Most brands are available in department stores or online.

Let’s move on to your base. Remember, always start strong. The key to long-lasting makeup is prepping your skin. That includes toning, moisturizing, and priming! Do these before applying sunscreen, and leave it on your skin for a couple of minutes to absorb before moving to the next step to avoid clumping!

Once that’s done, we proceed to the real deal – the actual makeup products.

Applying sunscreen must be part of your daily routine. Another important thing to consider is prepping your skin by toning, moisturizing, and priming. Do this before applying sunscreen.

There are tons of options to even out one’s complexion available in the market these days, and we have K-beauty to thank for that! They are the pioneers of cushion foundations, after all!

If you’re in for a quick retouch throughout the day, cushion foundations might be the one for you! Lucky for us, many in the market pass the “transfer-proof” mask test! Find what’s best for your skin, whether it’s full coverage or a lightweight finish.

For lips, you’ll probably have trouble finding the right shade and feel from all the products available on the market. But go with your gut, and don’t be afraid to experiment until you find the ideal one for you. Just try to keep yourself from lipstick hoarding.

Now we can’t finish without one of the most significant steps in our makeup routine, right? As any makeup enthusiast knows, your eyebrows could make or break you.

For the lips, choose the shade that best suits you, but do not be afraid to play with colors that make you feel good inside and out.

There are lots of eyebrow pencils to choose from in the market. A quick trip to the department or drug store, and you’re guaranteed to go home with a pencil or two.

If you’re still undecided on which product to buy, go to Youtube and watch reviews. There are tons of makeup products, from blushes to eyeshadow palettes, that you can add to your routine.

Don’t be afraid to try new things as you do your best to look presentable when you head back to campus this year.
