The “new normal” has kept us glued at home making social media shopping the most exciting pastime in this pandemic. And while we enjoy the delightful convenience of clicking our choices away and  waiting for the items to be delivered to our doorstep, why not take it a notch higher by purchasing products that encourage women to speak out against domestic violence.

RISE UP. The #SpeakOut Art Collective features 14 contemporary artwork by female artists illustrating their take on the realities of domestic violence. In photos are the works of Cru Camara and Ciane Xavier (photo below).

#SpeakOut Art Collective is Avon’s crusade against domestic violence. The international brand is strongly committed to breaking down the walls of silence on the said issue. This year, to further support the advocacy, Avon offers limited edition #SpeakOut fundraising products.

Every purchase of an the Avon #SpeakOut lipstick, the Evita watch, the Avon Love Yourself jewelry set, and the women’s empowerment umbrella, is a direct donation to local institutions that provide assistance to abused women and children.

The campaign supports the Luna Legal Resource, Gender Watch Against Violence and Exploitation, Women’s Care Center, Inc., and Ing Makababaying Aksyon (IMA) Foundation.

The Women’s Crisis Center provides immediate intervention and service to victims of domestic violence. Domestic violence is also the subject of the #SpeakOut Art Collective, a collaboration between Filipina artists and Avon Philippines. The exhibit features 14 contemporary works from the all-female lineup of artists, namely, Denise Heredia, Nicole Concepcion, Ciane Xavier, Gabby Prado, Cru Camara, Tyang Karyel, Mara Fabella, Tammy De Roca, Bea Policarpio, and Bree Jonson. The works deliver each artist’s commentary on the realities of domestic violence.

Art lovers interested in owning any of the beautiful pieces can send their bids via the company website.

“Through this effort, we are hoping to spark more conversations and increase more awareness of the realities of domestic abuse caused by the isolation,” explained Avon Philippines general manager Razvan Diratian. “We want to let survivors know that they are never alone.”

For every purchase of Evita watch, #SpeakOut lipstick, or Avon Love Yourself jewelry set, a donation will go to local institutions that provide assistance to abused women and children.

For 135 years, Avon has been providing quality products for women sold by women. It has empowered millions of female entrepreneurs around the world by giving them a chance to be their own boss and build their own beauty business through their own social network.

Like any industry, the last couple of months have been most challenging to Avon’s hardworking representatives. But thanks to female empowerment, their very own front liners are able to forge ahead

“They continue to represent what the power of beauty can do for the world, despite the pandemic,” Avon PR head Marion Limlengco proudly said.

At a time when face-to-face transaction is not possible, the company extended all kinds of support so representatives can continue doing business. “We have shopping and ordering alternatives for the safety and convenience of our representatives. They can order online at Avon.ph, or call or send an SMS to their branch for order pick-up or delivery.”
