Fashion tricks for a standout look in office

There are days when you know you’ve got your look on point. But admit it, there are some days when you wish your office had a uniform to make things easier in the morning and cut dressing time. So what do you do if your wardrobe and budget are limited and you want to look stylish and polished every day?

Robinsons Department Store offers some tips and hacks on how to look perfect for the workplace:

Invest in classic pieces and build on the basics. Black trousers, crisp white shirts and a stylish cardigan. You can actually live on these but that wouldn’t be very exciting. Use these pieces and accentuate with something that is uniquely you, to create looks that reflect your taste and personality.

Choose separates—blouse, skirt and trousers—in neutral shades as they can create different looks.

Choose figure-flattering pieces over baggy clothes. Loose-fitting might be comfortable but they don’t look professional. Fit is important. Tight clothes are also a no-no. Look for well-fitting clothes that enhance your figure and make you look like the young professional you are.

Black, white and gray themed separates are perfect if you’re building your wardrobe. The styles are timeless but still on trend. You can get a black pencil skirt and a pair of pants and four tops from Liberté, and you’re all set.

Let your clothes do double duty. You should be able to wear your clothes on and off duty. You don’t want a wardrobe that’s difficult to navigate. Your pieces should be versatile, meaning they can be worn on working and non-working days.

Invest in classic pieces in whites, blacks and grays, when buying clothes to wear in the office.

Include prints in your wardrobe. It’s not just about black, white and gray. A Liberté printed blouse over black pants from Stella would definitely liven up your look and make you stand out in the boardroom. What print to choose? Go for florals or maybe something with graphic prints.

Camel is a great neutral color that looks classy and expensive. A camel-colored pencil skirt plus a crisp white shirt with dark brown pumps is a look that would definitely turn heads in or out of the office.

Choose separates because you can wear them in so many ways. Blouses and skirts can be mixed and matched for different looks. Wear a black shirt with a dressy top for a work-related dinner. You can pair it with a crisp white shirt and white sneakers for casual Fridays.

A pop of color can make you look fabulous on a gloomy rainy day. A bright color, maybe in the form of a jacket or a blouse, breaks the monotony of an all-black outfit.

Accessories can change the look of an ensemble. Even jeans and a black t-shirt can be office friendly when accessorized properly. A statement necklace or a stack of bangles can make the plainest outfit look polished.

Don’t eschew trendy pieces. A pair of black culottes from Liberté can be office appropriate with a dressy top and wedge heels. Dark colored jeans can look stylish with heels. A Stella sleeveless top can be paired with white trousers for a business casual look.

Stella appeals to women who want classic and versatile prices, which can be easily mixed and matched. Liberté is perfect for young women starting out in the corporate world and are looking for stylish and practical clothes.

Stella and Liberté are two of the private labels available at Robinsons Department Stores.
