Celebrities’ secret to quick and clean laundry? Steam

Depending on the amount of clothes and the type of items to be washed, doing the laundry could easily take a huge chunk out of a person’s time. Mikael Daez and Megan Young agree.

“The reason why we dread washing our clothes is because, admit it, washing clothes takes up so much time,” the celebrity couple said at a virtual event.

STARS, STAINS, STEAM. Celebrity couple Mikael Daez and Megan Young, TV actress and host Dianne Medina, YouTuber Kimpoy Feliciano, and host Valerie Tan swear by steam technology in ensuring cleanliness of their laundry.

However, it is never smart to compromise on cleanliness (of laundry) just to finish the task quickly – pandemic or not.

“The accumulation of dirt on clothes can propagate allergens that once transmitted can be harmful to our health,” said Cecil Placia, product marketing head at Beko Pilipinas. Beko, a European appliances brand, harnesses technology to make families’ lives “easier, healthier, and safer”.

To make laundry easier, and families safer and healthier, the brand introduced its washing machines with SteamCure Hygiene+ technology.

SteamCure Hygiene+ aims to cut down on time spent removing stubborn stains on fabrics by releasing steam from the bottom of the washing machine’s drum before it starts washing. This acts as a pre-treatment.

Another batch of steam is released after the end of the wash cycle, this time, to help smooth out unsightly creases and folds. This helps for easy ironing.

“To help us out, we got the Beko washing machine,” shared Daez and Young. Other Beko washing machine celebrity users include Dianne Medina and Kimpoy Feliciano.

In addition to possibly shortening the time spent on clothes-related chores, Beko’s steam technology also helps protect families from bacteria and allergens. The SteamCure Hygiene+ technology works at a range of 20 to 90 degrees Celsius. Allergy UK says 60 degrees Celsius is enough to reduce 99.9 percent of allergens (dust mites, pet dander, bacteria, and fungi) in the fabric.

“We are more conscious about our health and safety, not just for us but also for our family,” noted country manager Gurhan Gurnal, adding, “This technology is important because it can help us lead a quality and healthy life.”

The steam that rises from the bottom of the washing machine, according to marketing head Dyeun Zapanta, does not affect or make the unit hot to touch. “It doesn’t really heat up because the water is located in the bottom special compartment; if you touch the side, top, or front, it will not emit the heat that’s used to heat the water for the steam.”

The steam also makes sure the laundry is odor-free once done. To help clothes dry faster, especially during the rainy season, the Beko Heat Pump dryer works well with the SteamCure Hygiene+ washing machine.

The SteamCure Hygiene+ technology releases steam from the bottom of the washing machine’s drum before it starts washing to help remove stubborn stains on clothes. It releases steam again after the wash cycle to help smooth out creases and folds.

The SteamCure Hygiene+ technology is available in select Beko freestanding washing machine models. The brand is present in select All Home, Anson’s, Savers, Gidi Distribution, and Asian Homess Appliance Center in Cebu, and on Lazada and Household Appliances Trading (hat.com.ph).
