Lanao del Norte chef wins country-wide cooking contest

After months of fiery competition, Chef Roseller Fiel II (center) of Lanao Del Norte emerged the first champion of Solane Kitchen Hero Chefs’ Edition—a competition organized by Solane to recognize the cooking prowess of the best chefs across the nation. 

Impressing the judges with his winning three-course meal: Kilawin na Baboy with butter-poached lobster, grilled talong and ampalaya, and coco-cream vinaigrette; Humba Bisaya with brown rice pilaf; and Dodol with caramel-tisa sauce and peanut-ginger brittle, Chef Fiel bested four other competitors on the final round and won P100,000 cash and a culinary trip to Japan.
