Processed meat manufacturer Mekeni rolls out healthier version of hotdog and longanisa.
A healthier alternative, Mekeni GoLite yogurt sausage has 25 percent less fat than the brand’s regular hotdog, has zero trans fat, and has no artificial coloring. It’s made with chicken meat, pork fat, skimmed milk yogurt, and spices.
Cooking instructions are likewise healthy—just pour hot water into the container, wait for three minutes, and enjoy.
Another healthier alternative from Mekeni is its gluten-free Chicken Longanisa, which goes perfectly with garlic fried rice and egg or a plain hotdog bun.
Mekeni Chicken Longanisa is available in 250g and 500g packs in major supermarkets and wet markets grocery stores nationwide. Mekeni GoLite, on the other hand, comes in 500g packs and is available in select specialty stores.
