Audio streaming platform Spotify recently launched its latest Pride initiative, Claim Your Space.

The initiative included the launch of Pride Hub, an all year long hub that features and promotes LGBTQIA+ artists, podcasters, and themed playlists from around the world.

“We’ve actually been celebrating Pride in the community over the last few years. This year, ‘Claim Your Space’ is our commitment to celebrating diversity and voices from all walks of life, with the desire to create a permanent space for queer representation both on and off the Spotify platform,” says Kossy Ng, head of music for Southeast Asia.

In the Philippines, listeners can search for “Pride” on Spotify to discover tunes from artists like Paul Pablo and buzz from podcasters like AC Soriano and more.

Bahaghari is Philippines’ dedicated Pride playlist on the Hub, featuring top tracks from international and local LGBTQIA+ artists and allies, including “Bangin”, “R.Y.F.”, “Fix Me”, and “This Love Isn’t Crazy”. Local pride-inspired podcasts like “Gabi ng Bading”, “Huwag ‘tong Makakalabas”, and “Becky Nights” are also available.

“It takes incredible courage and determination to be your authentic self, and I’m thankful for the various communities and platforms, like Spotify, that are safe and inclusive, giving an opportunity for us to thrive as well as empower us to inspire others,” says Mark Bautista, whose track “I Need You” is featured in the Bahaghari playlist.

Bautista continues, “With the hopes of creating a more vibrant and empathetic society, I hope my work and voice continues to shape the culture for the LGTBQ+ community in the Philippines.”
