The Obra Maestra exhibition, open until Feb. 29, features the evolution of the iconic Filipiniana dress from the pre-colonial era to the 1970s.
Hosted by Shangri-La Plaza, it showcases the works of Ramon Valera, Pitoy Moreno, Aureo Alonzo, Ben Farrales, R.T. Paras, and Pacita Longo, as well as pieces from bibliophile Mario Feir’s exclusive Filipiniana collection.
The exhibition is part of the Obra Maestra 2020: Homage to Heritage conceptualized and directed by fashion and arts impresario Zardo Ayangco-Austria.
It complements the official unveiling of Austria’s two landmark publications: Obra Maestra: A Portrait of Excellence in Philippine Fashion and Culture, a retrospective of vintage fashion photography, and NOBLEIDEAS… To Aspire & Inspire, a full-color magazine with almost 200 pages of inspiring work and articles from some of the country’s talented and artistic designers from various fields.
