In “Paving the Road to a New World”, Li Junfeng and Li Jing offer a thought-provoking perspective on the power of love as the original energy of the universe.
They take us back to the formation of the universe with the hope that readers will realize that to save the Earth and humanity, they need to “slow down” as they plan and work for their future.
The book also provides step-by-step processes for the Union of Three Hearts meditation, which allows for the purification of one’s heart, and includes various testimonies about the power of love and the impact of practicing meditation on people’s lives.
Scientific terms like the “big bang” might confuse readers at the start, but the authors make it clear that they are not experts in natural science. They discuss the universe’s formation and its connection with Chinese philosophical concepts of qi as well as yin and yang.
As a reader, I encountered these concepts as general subjects in my philosophy classes, but it takes a great deal of interest and enlightenment to fully understand and apply them in one’s life.
Many readers will start to relate to the book once they reach the chapter that discusses the crisis of humanity. Society is often advised to slow down, but many people are not prepared for that conversation in our fast-paced world.
The authors explain their advocacy by emphasizing the importance of “quieting the heart” as a foundation for understanding the world. For them, slowing down means not only living at a slower pace, but also listening to our heart and mind, which can help change the way we treat the Earth and those around us for the better. This is something that definitely requires more time.
It’s worth mentioning that people with selfish interests are not ready to accept the authors’ stance that as society develops, we need leaders with “pure hearts”. This is the book’s goal – to reach different facets of society.
In addition to offering advice, Li Junfeng and Li Jing discuss various crises in a manner that traces back to the core principle of love. This comprehensive discussion on the need for powerful individuals to have pure hearts is exactly what our world needs, especially in uncertain times like these.
With greed and selfishness dominating our environment, there has never been a better time to rethink our values.
Overall, this book will make us examine our own privileges and realize the importance of balancing our heart and mind in our treatment of the Earth and humanity. The authors understand that we all share the same goal, and given the wide range of relevant topics discussed in the book, it applies to everyone and does not target a specific profession.
This book can aid us in our journey towards a new world and push for sustainable development for future generations.
