Pinky Tobiano brings a piece of Italy to the table

Italy, the birthplace of the Renaissance, is known for many great things. The country’s history and culture are evident in its vast regions highlighted through its landscapes, cuisine, and arts, among other aspects.

Pinky Tobiano, the queen of tablescaping who is known for her widely-followed “TablelovebyPinky,” saw inspiration from the coast and how the Amalfi lemons satisfy the senses

The picturesque Amalfi Coast, located in Italy’s Sorrento Peninsula, is where chemist and TV host Pinky Tobiano imagined it as the perfect vacation spot for her favorite people. Known for its stunning coastline beautifully set along the cobalt blue Tyrrhenian Sea, Amalfi has a mild climate that is perfect for get-togethers.

Besides its natural and cultural wonders, Amalfi is known for its variant of lemons developed as a cross between the local lemon and bitter orange, which makes it sweeter, juicier, and more aromatic than the regular lemon.

Pinky, the queen of tablescaping known for her widely-followed “TablelovebyPinky,” saw inspiration from the coast and how the Amalfi lemons satisfy the senses. She translated her experience and put a piece of Italy on the tablet using various elements, giving her guests a memorable encounter.

For beginners, she used fresh lemons in her suspended tablescape, taking her art to another level. The citrusy aroma instantly filled the area, making her guests feel refreshed and excited to move on to the table underneath.

Since Amalfi lemons aren’t available in the Philippines, Pinky used local variants. After all, tablescape artists need to be resourceful and adaptable.

Pinky’s tablescape is the centerpiece of her exclusive shopping party with Williams–Sonoma brands in the Philippines.

Moving towards the table, Pinky used an expandable dining table made from solid, kiln-dried acacia wood. She chose it specifically for its walnut finish that will undoubtedly make the centerpiece and flowers pop. The tablescape artist paired it with chairs made from all-weather wicker suitable for outdoor and indoor, giving the set a fresh and al fresco vibe.

Pinky later focused her attention on the centerpiece. She used bouquets of baby blue hydrangeas towering over bright yellow lemons as glass vase fillers. She added small branches filled with olives to evoke an Italian feel.

In true TableLovebyPinky fashion, Pinky used the most unlikely things as tablescape elements. She filled Aaron Probyn Jiggers, a sleek, metallic vessel, with baby’s breath to give an element of surprise. She also used a wooden divided tray full of hearty grains to factor more earthiness into the setup.

To top it all off, she added lemons cut in half and squeezed one across the whole table for that extra olfactory treat.

Lastly, to complete the overall look of her tablescape, Pinky used flute and wine glasses with modern angles. At its bases are coasters with a stone-like tone to elevate the whole look and remind her of Amalfi’s rocky shores.

Guests at the tablescaping event included beauty queen Bianca Manalo, TV host Phoemela Barranda, actress-entrepreneur Yanna Asistio, Cornerstone’s Erickson Raymundo, actress Moi Bien, chef Florabel Co-Yatco, make-up artist Bambbi Fuentes, lawyer Karen Jimeno, Gerry Sy, Petra Lim, Ruby Chua, Irene Montemayor, Mac Merla, Ann Murphy, Lara Villafuerte, and Dong Ronquillo.

Pinky’s collaboration with West Elm made her tablescaping event possible. Her recent tablescape is the centerpiece of her exclusive shopping party with Williams–Sonoma brands in the Philippines. Pinky gets her tablescaping essentials and furniture from WSI Brands, such as Pottery Barn and West Elm.

West Elm boasts modern furniture and home decor, with new collections every season, an artist’s dream for every tablescape.
