It can be quite difficult to look for products you need at home and for yourself, especially if what you look for are sustainable and sworn by aficionados. In other words, these items must have been tried and tested to give excellent results, and at the same time, the makers or brands are well on their way towards sustainability.

These were in the minds of a group of friends when they founded Beauty Scout, an online destination for well-curated products from a slew of brands. The products, which come in special set boxes and subscriptions of choice items, range from beauty and skincare; to health and wellness; home and living; as well as rituals.

Recently, I was invited to an exclusive preview of its latest offerings—from internationally acclaimed cult brands to proudly made local brands in beauty and wellness—which were showcased to the founders’ friends from the media including select influencers or content creators. At the intimate gathering, I got the chance to speak with one of the founders of Beauty Scout, Rochelle Romero who also acts as the Marketing and Merchandise director.

OPI, a vegan nail polish brand is a favorite. It’s free of animal derived ingredients and by products, non-GMO, vegan, and cruelty-free

“The founders of Beauty Scout, myself included, are beauty aficionados who love to travel the world not only to discover the beauty of every place we visit but also to search for excellent products we can use ourselves and share with everyone through Beauty Scout,” she said.

“We are proud of each brand we put in Beauty Scout because we have tried and tested them, we use them ourselves, and we can swear by them. We don’t just test a product and offer it online. As much as possible, we want the products to be natural and sustainable—good for you and your skin, and good for the environment,” Romero added.

What’s admirable about this is that at the core of the business is the team’s brand value of giving back to the community via their initiative dubbed “Scout For A Cause,” where if one buys an item, a percentage of the proceed goes to their chosen organizations: Bright Faces, iCanServe, STEPS Scholarship Foundation, and Voice of the Free.

Now I don’t know about you but it’s a plus factor to me when a business has an advocacy, such as giving back to the planet and to the community.

Apart from beauty, home, wellness, and skincare products, Beauty Scout has recently added an exclusive offering, the ‘3 Day Healthy Meal Plan’ prepared by Wildflour in addition to its bread assortments on the site called the Hokkaido Milk Buns.

Chocolatier Christian Valdes of the CMV Txokolat, which is known to offer locally made artisanal chocolates prepared by the Chocolatier Man himself, brought in some of their delightful bestsellers such as the Sofia Strawberries for the guests to try.

OPI, a vegan nail polish brand was one of the favorite stations at the gathering as several guests got to experience some of their best-selling vegan nail polish collections. The ‘ ‘Nature Strong by OPI,” first natural origin nail lacquer had me excited when I was told that it could last up to seven days wear and shine. I love that it is free of animal-derived ingredients and by-products, non-GMO, vegan, has not been tested on animals, and is cruelty-free. Its packaging is made with 20 percent post-consumer recycled materials. You can really tell I like this brand, and yes, I am so into nail polish.

Beauty aficionados who have the means and time can easily put up an online destination for the products they love, but when they do it not only for the money but also for a community, you know that it’s a job well done.

Beauty Scout also offers health and wellness brands that the founders tried and tested to be good for the health

If you want to give Beauty Scout a chance, you can shop through their Personal Concierge service by calling 0906-3461-388. You may also shop through their website at www.beautyscout.ph or follow @beautyscoutph on Facebook and Instagram.
