Just like his character Lee Si Woo can forecast the weather, Song Kang knows what rains and what shines in the world of fashion.

Song Kang sports classic and versatile fashion pieces from Penshoppe’s Color
Collection

The 28-year-old South Korean actor has captured spotlights and hearts as Lee Si Woo in his latest K Drama hit Forecasting Love & Weather, playing the role of a weather forecasting genius who braves the storms of a seemingly complicated love story.

Fans bid goodbye to the beloved character in the series finale which aired in April, but he isn’t done channeling Lee Si Woo just yet.

The actor stars in a new Penshoppe campaign for the brand’s newest In Color Collection—a line of classic and versatile fashion pieces that come in vibrant hues and are accentuated with polychromatic details.

In an exclusive interview with Penshoppe, Song Kang shares his forecast for the future of everyday fashion, and his predictions might not be too far off the mark.

What’s your present-day fashion like, and what are some of your favorite fashion trends?

“My present-day fashion is casual. I like to wear comfortable clothes for personal time outside of my schedule, so a lot of the items in my closet are quite casual. The trending items that [catch] my attention these days include long trousers  and cropped jackets.”

As a fashion enthusiast yourself, you’ve seen trends come and go, but what do you think is a trend that’s here to stay?

“I think [it would be] athletic apparel. There are a lot of people who work out these days as part of their self-care routine. Functionality is the most important element of athletic wear and compared to the past, there are a lot of clothes with various designs that can be worn in daily life. There may be changes  in design and style, but since this is a trend that’s closely related to people’s lifestyles, I feel like the  trend itself is here to stay.”

What fashion pieces do you think will always be in style?

“I think items such as jeans, shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts will be in constant demand no matter how much time passes. Such basic items are clothes that we own as essentials over generations. They’re simple and go well with   anything, which makes them versatile.”

What do you think casual everyday wear would look like 10 years from now?

“It’s hard to [guess] since fashion trends change so quickly,   but I don’t think it would be too different from what it is now. They say fashion trends come and go. Just as items   from 10 years ago become fashionable again with a retro   feel, as would the items we’re wearing now become   fashionable again in ten years.”
