Caloocan city workers get free flu jabs, vitamins

The Caloocan City Government is offering free flu vaccines and vitamins to all its staff, who are considered the city’s main frontliners in the fight against COVID-19.

According to Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan, city hall staff that provide health care services, peace and order, emergency response, and environmental sanitation, or who often engage in field work and “respond to the needs of our citizens” will be prioritized.

“We know that the 5,000 employees or the frontliners of our local government face the risk of pandemic every day. Therefore, in addition to the COVID-19 vaccine, we want to give them additional protection so that they can continue to serve the from Caloocan,” the mayor said. 

Priority employees include the staff of the Caloocan City Medical Center, Caloocan City North Medical Center, City Health Department, City Social Welfare and Development Department, Public Safety and Traffic Management Department, and City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.

They will be vaccinated with the flu vaccine on September 13.

Staff of the Community Relations Office, City Environmental Management Department, and Office for Senior Citizens Affairs will be vaccinated at the Bulwagang Katipunan (South) and SDC Covered Court (North).
