The Quezon City government has completely distributed P2.48 billion in financial assistance from the national government to 2,339,420 individuals, five days earlier than the deadline set by the Department of Interior and Local Government.

“With help from the city department, barangay and law enforcers, we were able to distribute the assistance to our indigent citizens,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said.

Amid the enhanced community quarantine, the city government gave the cash aid while adhering to minimum health and safety protocols by limiting the number of scheduled beneficiaries per day at each site, she said.

A total of 2,339,420 individuals or 747,520 families claimed their P1,000 to P4,000 aid from different distribution centers in the city.

However, 89,154 households have yet to claim their financial aid, as they did not appear during their schedule.

Belmonte said the city government has already begun the payout of the unclaimed assistance to beneficiaries who had missed their payout schedule.

Fe Macale, Social Services Development Department chief, said days before the distribution, the city had updated the beneficiary list to remove ineligible and duplicate names.

Based on the report of SSDD, 2,782 appeals or complaints were received by grievance committees at the city’s designated payout sites.

Beneficiaries who have yet to get their aid are advised to monitor the official Facebook page of the city government and website for further announcements.
