Police bust suspected drug ring

Police busted another suspected members of a drug syndicate operating in southern part of Metro Manila, and seized more than P1.5 million worth of shabu in separate entrapment operations in cities of Muntinlupa and Makati Sunday night and early Monday morning.

First to be arrested was Raymond Calinog, 34, a resident of 168 T. Molina Street, Purok 5, Barangay Alabang.

He is now detained at the Muntinlupa Custodial Facility and was charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11 Article II of Republic Act 9165 also known as the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Members of the Muntinlupa City Police Staton – 5 led by Maj. Peter Aquino, in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, conducted the entrapment operation at the Philippine National Railway Site in Sucat, Muntinlupa City around 7:30 p.m.

Seized from Calinog were three pieces of plastic sachets containing 101 grams of shabu, a red color eco bag and P2,000 marked money used in the police operation.

The police operation was also conducted in cooperation with Barangay Alabang Councilman Jeramel Mendoza and a membert of the media.

Arrested In Makati City were Romnick Basas, alias Nick, 32; and Martin Garcia, alias Junior, 35, both residents of 4516 Quintos Street in Barangay Poblacion.

Operatives of Makati City Police Station Drugs Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and Sub-Station 6 led by Maj. Tyrone Valenzona conducted the buy-bust operation at Laperal Compound along Progreso Street in Barangay Guadalupe Viejo early Monday morning.

Recovered from the suspects were six pieces small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 120 grams of shabu worth more than P816,000, the P1,000 cash used in the entrapment, a .22 caliber magnum, and five live bullets.

Police said one of the operatives disguised as a buyer and was able to purchase one piece small sachet of shabu from the suspects that resulted in their arrest.

The police operation stemmed from an information from citizens about the illegal activity of the suspects in the area of Barangay Poblacion.

The drugs seized from the three suspects were turned over to the Southern Police District Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis.

The two police operations were made more than a week after four other drug dealers were busted in Barangay Putatan, also in Muntinlupa City.

The four suspects were Herbert Ignacio, alias Tammy, 40, a resident of of Blk 1 Lot 22 Midland Subdivision, and Ramel Opague, alias Bato, 28, of Blk 23 Lot 5 Freewill Subdivision, both of Barangay Putatan; Martin Antazo, 35, of Blk 9 Lot 3 Ridgeview Subdivision, Paliparan II, Dasmarinas Cavite, and Florencio Romano, 31, of Wawa, Taguig City.

SPD director Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Peralta commended his men for the latest accomplishment.

He said the operations were part of the continuing crackdown on drug dealing in Metro Manila.
