The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) on Monday turned over 20 new police vehicles to the Manila Police District (MPD).

The new police vehicles—Toyota Vios units—were turned over during the flag-raising ceremony led by Manila City Mayor Francisco ‘Isko’ Domagoso at the Kartilya ng Katipunan.

With these vehicles, the Mayor said police visibility would be improved and response time against criminal activities would be more swift in the nation’s capital.

The vehicles were received by Domagoso as well as Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan, MPD chief Rolando Miranda and National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Debold Sinas.

“These will greatly improve our police visibility. Reaction time will be swift. The vehicles will be deployed strategically in our precincts and stations,” Domagoso said during the flag raising ceremony.

“We will deploy one patrol car each for the MPD’s 11 stations to improve our police visibility,” he said.

Aside from the 20 Toyota Vios units, Domagoso said the MPD would also receive six tactical vehicles for its Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) personnel from the FFCCCII.

FFCCCII officials who were present during the turnover ceremony were the organization’s president Dr. Henry Lim Bon Liong, vice presidents Dr. Cecile De Pedro and Victor Lim, honorary president Robin Sy, secretary general Dr. Fernando Gan and board member Nelson Guevarra.
