Teaching and non-teaching personnel in the City of Manila are set to receive P5,000 cash assistance from the local government, totaling P64 million, amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko” Domagoso announced on Friday that he has approved the release of the P64-million financial assistance to be given to teachers soon.

“Ang lahat ng aming teacher and non-teaching personnel, sa aming elementary at public high school ay tatanggap ng 5,000 pesos bawat isa. Pinirmahan ko na kahapon yung P64 million more or less,” Domagoso said.

The mayor said around 11,000 public elementary and high school personnel stand to benefit from the assistance.

He added that the assistance will be directly deposited to the ATM cards of teachers and non-teaching personnel.
