The Filipino Bayanihan spirit shines through amid the coronavirus outbreak as SM Foundation delivered medical supplies to The Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service Foundation (TOWNS) Foundation and the University of the Philippines Medical Foundation (UPMF) on Wednesday, April 1.
The medical supplies included disinfecting alcohol, personal protective equipment (PPEs) and surgical gowns intended for medical front liners battling the COVID-19 pandemic through the help of TOWNS and UPMF.
Naval officers from the Philippine Navy will also lend a hand with the distribution so those in remote areas have access to the much-needed medical supplies. These packages will help initial recipient communities in the cities of Dumaguete and Zamboanga.
The donation is part of the P170 million allocation previously pledged by SM to 50 hospitals to be of service to the Filipino public, medical institutions and the government to overcome the pandemic together.
