DILG chief rolls out revitalized police plan

Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. ordered the deployment of the “Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay (RPSB)” program which is expected to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs in Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela (Camanava).

The program affiliated with Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA), the government’s flagship program, will cover at least 25 percent of the barangays in Camanava.

“We will put police in the necessary barangays. I have listed at least 25% of all the barangays that we will focus on,” Abalos said in front of the 3,000 people who participated in the BIDA Talks in Camanava this Saturday in Caloocan City.

He added that through the RPSB, the fight against illegal drugs can be brought closer to the communities, and hardworking policemen can be brought closer to the barangays Vince Lopez

The DILG chief also emphasized that the government will not allow the problem of illegal drugs to expand and that they are doing everything to combat this illegal and evil activity through programs such as RPSB and BIDA.

“Let’s fight drugs and don’t be afraid, because if we are afraid, nothing will happen to us,” Abalos said.
