Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco, Rep. John Rey Tiangco and representatives of San Miguel Corporation met with potential investors on Wednesday.
The group visited the sites of the 343-hectare Tanza Airport Support Services and the 73.3-hectare Navotas Coastal Development.
Mayor Tiangco also presented the designs of Palafox Associates for the said megaprojects.
“The Tanza Airport Support Services will bring diverse opportunities for Navoteños. To prepare for this, we passed City Ordinance No. 2021-40 that requires new businesses in Navotas to hire at least 70% of its workforce from bonafide residents of the city,” he said.
“Our NAVOTAAS Institute will also offer technical-vocational courses relevant to the needs of emerging industries,” he added.
Mayor Tiangco also noted that the Navotas Coastal Development, which includes the expressway towards the New Manila International Airport in Bulacan, will feature the city’s largest socialized housing.
“We thank San Miguel Corporation for their trust and confidence in bringing in this big project and acceding to our request to include our biggest in-city housing. Some 3,480 families will have their new homes at the Navotas Coastal Development. Once completed, we will have a total of 7,167 housing units,” he said.
“We have planned and prepared for these projects for years now. We are happy and excited that these plans will soon come into reality with your help,” Rep. Tiangco told the investors.
The group also toured the Navotas-Malabon River Flood gate, NavotaAs Homes 1 and 2-Tanza, Urban Vertical Farm, and Sitio Pulo. Jun David
