National Capital Region Police Office director Guillermo Eleazar on Monday cited Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte as an outstanding local executive of the year.

The Quezon City Police District, headed by Chief Supt. Joselito Esquivel Jr. also received the outstanding police district award.

The awarding was part of the activities of the NCRPO’s 23rd Police Community Relations Month for awardees’ contributions in the prevention and eradication of illegal drugs and crime.

“I feel really ecstatic to have been a recipient of this award considering that I am just a vice mayor, but it feels good to know that your work has been recognized and that your work has been successful,” Belmonte said.

She thanked the police as the city government’s partner in “the area of eradicating illegal drugs and subsequently criminal activity.”
