Starting Dec. 22, the Quezon City Disaster Action Team will be on Yellow Alert in anticipation of any emergencies during the holidays.
According to QC Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office head Karl Michael Marasigan, emergency medical services and search and rescue teams are ready to respond any time during the holidays. Also, six new ambulances were recently added to QCDRRMO’s fleet that will be on alert.
“This is a busy activity for us. On Dec. 22 we will be raising the alert level to Yellow. All members of the Disaster Action Team will be on-call alert status so anytime we need warm bodies, they are here,” Marasigan said. Rio Araja
“The Emergency Operations Center will also be on full monitoring. Even the barangay DRRM committees and Barangay Emergency Response Teams will also be on alert,” he added.
The QC Disaster Action Team is composed of the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), Department of Public Order and Safety and the City Environmental Protection and Waste Management Department.
For any emergencies during the holidays, the public can dial 122 and help will be on its way.
