Caloocan gains 2 child, labor plums

Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan has commended the hardworking city government officials and employees for reaping two major awards in child protection and public employment office.

Malapitan conveyed his congratulation to officers and staff of the Caloocan City Social Welfare and Development Office, led by Jan Christine Bagtas, and action officer Roberto Quizon and the other members of the Caloocan Council for the Protection of Children for their success in raising their standards for the city to acquire the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance.

The mayor encouraged all the local employees concerned including the CCPC to continue with their programs and projects aimed at promoting the welfare of children and the youth.

Meanwhile, Malapitan also congratulated the Caloocan Public Employment Service Office of the Labor and Industrial Relations Office after winning first runner-up in the National Capital Region’s Search for 2016 Best PESO, besting 16 other cities and municipality in Metro Manila.

The local PESO garnered an overall rating of 93 percent.

The simple awarding ceremony was led by Regional Director Johnson Cañete, which was held in Diaspora Farm, Bacolor, Pampanga that was well-attended by different local government units.

The competition aimed to commend the contribution of PESO on employment facilitation programs and to recognize its outstanding achievements.

Malapitan was also awarded a Certificate of Recognition for his continuous support and commitment to the city’s PESO.

Among the core services offered by PESO include employment referral, labor market information, and career coaching orientation; LEGS or Labor Education for Graduating Students, Tripartite Industrial Peace Council, Jobstart Philippines, TUPAD or Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa mga Disadvantaged/Displaced, Livelihood for Informal Sectors, Livelihood and Training, Special Program for Employment of Students or SPES, and Pre-employment Orientation Seminar for OFWs.
