The Navotas city government has distributed 934 bags and 87 smart television sets to three public schools during the first week of classes.

Mayor John Rey Tiangco, together with Councilors Alvin Nazal, Richard San Juan, and Ethel Joy Arriola, handed the bags containing school supplies to Grade 1 pupils of Bagumbayan Elementary School, Dagat-Dagatan Elementary School, and San Rafael Village Elementary School.

Tiangco also turned over 50-inch smart TVs to these schools as well as to the Navotas National High School and San Rafael Technological and Vocational High School.

The city government is expected to distribute school bags and smart TVs to other public elementary and high schools in Navotas in the next few weeks.

“We intend to improve the quality of education in our city by using information and communications technology,” Tiangco said.
