ANGELES CITY—Some P3.4-million worth of high grade Methamphetamine Hydrochloride were seized by anti-narcotics agents during a drug bust in front of a posh subdivision here late Wednesday evening. Two suspects were arrested.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 3 director Christian Frivaldo identified the suspects as Yasser Addatu Ibrahim,25, of Jaoville Barangay Pandan in this city and John Viray Lagman, 45, of Mabalacat City.

Frivaldo said the suspects had been placed under tight watch since February this year due to their involvement in the illegal drug trade in Angeles City and nearby Mabalacat City in Pampanga.

“Our agents secured a drug deal with the suspects for the sale of 500 grams of shabu and agreed to meet along Marisol road until they were collared by PDEA operatives”, Frivaldo said.

He said PDEA agents confiscated a resealable plastic bag carrying white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing more or less 500 grams.

The arrest of the suspects is part of the agency’s series of operations against bigtime traffickers and street peddlers operating in the city.

On Tuesday, PDEA broke up two drug dens in Angeles City and arrested 16 people.

“PDEA trained its sight in Angeles City due to reports on alleged proliferation of shabu despite the pandemic,” said Frivaldo.
