DOH-Calabarzon opens vaccine center, new lab

The Department of Health in Calabarzon has opened the Center for Vaccination and Clinical Laboratory located at the Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital in Bacoor City, Cavite.

“I commend the STRH family for continuously implementing development and reforms for the improvement of its services. We have to be prepared always to face the challenges in our health care system,” DOH Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo said during the blessing and inauguration of the facilities.

The construction of the STRH Vaccination Center and Clinical Laboratory started last October with a budget of P30 million.

Janairo added that the vaccination center will be used initially for the coming COVID-19 vaccination but will eventually expand to accommodate animal bite and routine immunizations.

Among the guests who witnessed the blessing and inauguration were Bacoor City Mayor Lanie Mercado Revilla, Assistant Regional Director Paula Paz Sydiongco, STRH Medical Chief Ruby Ephraim Rubiano, officials from the Bacoor local government, and staff of DOH-CALABARZON and STRH.

The STRH also celebrated its 2nd Year Foundation Anniversary.

Previously, the DOH in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon kicked off its “TeleBIDA – HAIDOC,” an improved online free medical consultation for residents of the region.

“The purpose of this project is to facilitate and expedite the provision of free medical consultation for individuals with illness and this is done without leaving the confines of your home and at everyone’s convenience,” Janairo said.

“Individuals who want to avail of the free online consultations can choose from among the two platforms to use– Facebook and Viber or by mobile phones,” he said.

“The TeleBIDA-HAIDOC will also cater for Covid-19 patients or individuals with Covid-19 symptoms by referring them to the epidemiology unit in their own locality through their local government unit,” he added.

The free consultation is open from Monday to Friday. Registration is from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Consultation hours start from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM in the morning and 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the afternoon.

For individuals who wants to avail of the service, they need to register through the following TeleBIDA-HAIDOC Facebook account – https://www.facebook.com/haidoc.chdcalabarzon by sending a private message, or through Viber or mobile numbers 0961-5118868 (Smart, TNT, Sun) and 0995-1077419 (Globe, TM). Follow the instructions and provide the information needed for the consultation.

Janairo reminded individuals who want to avail of the free service to be sure their devices are connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data and also ensure that their device is fully charged during the consultation period.

The service will be first come, first serve and only out-patient cases will be entertained.

The TeleBIDA-HAIDOC or Telemedicine BIDA– Health Access Innovation of Doctors Offering Online Consultation is under the Health Accessibility and Innovation Development Unit and one of the health innovations projects of Janairo for CALABARZON.
